This video is a hand reflexology sequence for relief from Hayfever, Allergic Rhinitis and Sinus Congestion and a few suggestions for remedies which might be of benefit to you.
.
If you suffer from any of these conditions, you will be familiar with your usual if it is different or if you experience any of the symptoms of Covid 19 such as high temperature, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, you need to seek medical advice immediately.
If you have any underlying or unstable medical conditions, please seek medical advice before you try any of this.
.
Some of the remedies suggested may be contra indicated with prescription medication, but your pharmacist will advise you if they are suitable for you.
Having said all of that here are a few home remedy suggestions that might be of benefit in relieving symptoms and some of these you will already have in your kitchen.
Honey 🐝– use a brand of local honey for best results and not to be used if you have an allergy to bees. The bee pollen can de sensitise your body to other pollens. You could also use bee pollen but this has to be introduced really slowly, literally a few grains at a time until your body gets used to it. Your local health food store will advise on how best to introduce it.
Vitamin C🍋🍊 found in citrus fruit is a fabulous decongestant, antihistamine and immune booster, and is found in Oranges, Lemons and Grapefruit. Your body can’t make it and you need to have it consistently so it’s a good idea to use a Vit C supplement.
Vitamin D-🐟🍄 found in oily fish, eggs and mushrooms. Not just good for hay fever but research showing it is very beneficial in boosting your immune system. Most of us are deficient and need to supplement. Levels can be checked with a simple blood test. Best to use one that is combined with Vit K2 but again you need to check with your pharmacist as Vit K2 is contraindicated with some medications.

Chamomile tea☕.- fantastic for red or swollen eyes👀 as a compress. Simply make your tea and leave it to cool. Soak a couple of cotton pads and apply to your eyes- but you need to use a separate compress for each eye for about 5 minutes. You can soak a number of cotton pads, squeeze them out, and store them in a container in your fridge to use. Chamomile tea contains flavonoids that have anti-inflammatory properties so drinking a cup daily can be very beneficial also
.
Onions & Garlic🧅🧄- both contain quercetin, a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-histamine so include lots of them in your cooking. Garlic is best eaten raw or you could roast it in the oven and use the garlic paste. If you are thinking of taking a garlic supplement check with your pharmacy re use of it with your prescription medication.
.
Tumeric -contains curcumin which has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, antiviral and anti-oxidant properties but you need to check with your pharmacy re contraindications with medication or medical conditions where this might be unsuitable.
.
Nettles – (NOT TO BE TAKEN IF YOU ARE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING) are one of the best natural anti-histamines and if you are able to pick young nettle leaves, remove stalks and boil in a pan for a few minutes you have a lovely fresh tea.
.
One of my clients uses Quercetin Nettle, from Tera Nova and swears by it both as a preventative and treatment for symptoms. Again, check with pharmacist if taking meds.
These are only a few suggestions and you could write abook on it so hope this helps.
