Hot and Cold Stone Facial Reflexology

Hot and Cold Stone Facial Reflexology

This is a wonderfully nurturing treatment using a combination of basalt stones and crystals with massage techniques to destress and rejuvenate the skin of the face and neck. Over 3000 years ago ancient civilisations were using hot stone massage believing that hot stones were beneficial for relaxing and cleansing the body, grounding the soul and soothing the mind.
During the treatment, warm stones will be placed on and around the body for relaxation. We begin with a cleansing of the skin, followed by hot and cold stone facial reflexology and massage of the Face, Neck, Head and Scalp tailored for each client.
The Stones are very grounding. Tired, sore & aching muscles are relaxed & tensions held at the deepest level are released. Circulation to the skin is increased, bringing about a nice healthy glow. The heat from the stones penetrates to a deeper level into the superficial layer of muscle bringing about physiological changes as well as influencing the body’s internal energy flow (Chi) and therefore bringing balance to body and mind.
Alternating the hot and cold stones is also believed to boost our immune system and is believed to work with yin and yang both relaxing and invigorating the system. It stimulates the circulatory and lymphatic systems and helps to detoxify the body. It also helps relieve pain and has an invigorating effect on the face. Hot stones have a sedating effect and cold stones are stimulating so it helps to increase the body’s metabolism and increases muscle tone. Cold is a powerful decongestant moving fluid and waste from muscles that are tense, overworked or inflamed.
